OUR FOCUS

AREAS

RUNNING WATER

Many communities don't have running water in their home. We want to change that.

SEWAGE SYSTEMS

Many communities use a "honey bucket" which causes a huge health risk, and we want to fix that.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

Implement the use of Renewable Energy though wind turbines and solar panels so that the communities are running 100% on renewable energy.

WASTE SITES

Upgrade current waste sites and create more efficient recycling systems.

Running Water

Many of these communities don't have running water directly to their homes. Community members have to save all the water they can. People wash their hands in a basin and keep reusing the same water until it is no longer usable. This method is used in most households. This is not sanitary. This causes many viral infections.

We will fix this by developing running water systems.

OUR VISION

Paimiu Development is a nonprofit organization that is focused on bringing development to rural communities across Alaska. There are over 280 communities, many averaging 300 residents, scattered across Alaska. Most of which are only accessible through air or water. Unemployment rates often exceed 50% in most communities due to the lack of jobs. Our vision is to bring basic development to these communities including running water, sewage systems, implementing the use of natural energy, creating recreational centers, upgrading waste sites, and provide efficient recycling systems. Development will create many year-round jobs for the residents

thus encouraging continual growth in the future.

OUR STORY

The founders of this nonprofit are from rural communities that lack basic needs. We are all passionate about

making rural communities a better and easier place to live. There are many hardships that come along with living in a developing community. We also want to preserve the land for the future generations through waste systems and renewable energy.

Paimiu is a Yup'ik name, meaning resident of the mouth of the river.
